Hey Vince, I like your site, easy to navigate...  well, for beginners starting to Musky fish PROPER Release tools are very important..  First thing you should buy is a pair of Knipex Mini BoltCutters, best small bolt cutters on the market, a bit pricey perhaps, but a critical tool when it comes to a successfull release.
A quality net of course will help, I personally reccomend the Beckman Fin Saver Series of nets, while others like the Frabill Big Game or Kahuna, Stowmaster is another one some are starting to like.
Other Tools to have are a good pair of Diagonal cutters, Brands such as Craftsman, Snap-on, Channellock, Knipex, and Klein(2000 series in Klein only). The reason for the brands I mention is they will last and can cut through hooks easier then other cheaper poorer quality brands..  Snap-On has a model of Diagonal cutters called the 312CP Storx, longer then most which can come in handy for deeper hooked fish.
Needlenose Pliers, at least one pair in 8" size
Baker Hookouts, they work what can I say?..
Mouth/Jaw Spreaders, not always needed, but can come in handy once in a while..
Camera with fresh film or empty memory card depending on which type you own..
Something to measure the fish with. I prefer the Floating 60" measuring stick, and in case you catch that trophy a cloth measuring tape to get a girth measurement for that replica you get made..
MOST IMPORTANT, a First Aid kit... because Musky have Sharp teeth along with those Gillrakers that can get you and accidents do happen...

almost forgot this part, best place to buy the Knipex tools? Crawford Tools on the Web, the lowest prices you will find: http://www.crawfordtool.com/knipex_bolt_cutters.html that link will take you right to the Knipex Bolt Cutters
